SOUTH RIDING, Va. – June 15, 2018 – Propel Swim Academy is celebrating their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting event, Tuesday, June 26th at 4:30 pm at their beautiful new facility located at 43160 Amberwood Plaza in South Riding. Members from the Loudoun Economic Development and Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance to help celebrate the opening of this new swim school in Loudoun County and to participate in the official ribbon cutting. There will be light refreshments served while families tour the school, and there will even be a free swim from 5-6pm. Propel Swim Academy is adding to the fun by raffling off free swim lessons and summer camp sessions during the event. This is a family-friendly event that is open to all supporters of the school.
Linda Stewart, owner of Propel Swim Academy has been teaching swimming lessons since she was 16 years old and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Stewart is extremely passionate about teaching children to swim, water safety, and the intersection of child development and swimming. She is committed to building a community of families who love to swim and who swim well together.
Linda stated, ” Whether it’s putting their face underwater or swimming 25 yards of Butterfly for the first time, I am looking forward to celebrating Propel’s swimmers’ achievements together. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to teach and grow alongside the diverse South Riding community.”
Linda’s son, Nick Curl, is the Operations Manager of Propel Swim Academy. He has a degree in Accounting and previously owned a swim lesson company, Swim-2-U, in the Northern VA area. Curl is thrilled to partner with his Mom to create a swimming facility and business that develops young people and forms lasting relationships with generations of South Riding Families.

Propel Swim Academy offers year-round, developmental swim lessons for swimmers of all ages and abilities from 3 months to adult. Their new facility located in South Riding, Virginia is comprised of three 90-degree water pools, and it includes a full-size 25-yard pool that will provide a lifelong pathway of learning and accomplishment. Students will build strong, effective swimming techniques and an understanding of the essential components of personal survival and water safety. Propel Swim Academy features a highly effective skill and safety progression for each level while instilling confidence in a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere. They offer free family swim times, host community events, as well as, fun swim birthday parties and summer swim camps.
