Barracuda
Barracuda is the next milestone for swimmers who have officially graduated from Orca Whale and are continuing their development inside our Ignite Group 1 practice program.
At this stage, swimmers are refining all four competitive strokes, building endurance, and developing the speed and efficiency needed for confident, strong swimming. While Ignite practices focus on conditioning and skill development as a whole, Barracuda provides clear skill benchmarks and progress tracking along the way.
Your swimmer will be taught:
- Increased endurance and fitness
- Enhanced technique in all 4 competitive swim strokes
- Racing Dives and Breakouts for all 4 strokes
- Increased speed in Freestyle and Backstroke Flip Turns
- I.M. Turns
How Barracuda Works Inside Ignite
Swimmers who have officially graduated from Orca Whale will have their Barracuda skills tracked during their regular Ignite Group 1 practices.
• Skill tracking happens during normal practices
• Once per month, swimmers participate in a dedicated Skills Assessment Day
• Progress is updated in your Customer Portal under the Evaluations section
• Milestones and achievements are celebrated
There is no additional class to attend. Ignite practices remain the same. Barracuda simply adds structure, visibility, and recognition to your swimmer’s progress.
Eligibility
Only swimmers who have officially graduated from Orca Whale are eligible for Barracuda skill tracking inside Ignite.
Swimmers who are still enrolled in Orca Whale will continue to be evaluated during every Orca Whale class. If your swimmer believes they are ready to move up, you may schedule an in person evaluation to test out of Orca Whale.
